A community organization dedicated to advocating for people of color on Cape Cod and the Islands.
Cape Cod Voices is a community organization created by women of color who have grown up on Cape Cod. The organization focuses on bringing black and brown voices into the center of the conversation on race, combating and educating about issues of systemic and institutional racism on Cape Cod, and advocating for students of color in local schools.
Current Services Cape Cod Voices offers to meet these goals are:

Co-founder Chandler Alves is from Bourne and Falmouth. She currently lives in Wellesley, MA where she works as a lead preschool teacher. She is a certified infant, toddler, preschool, and pre-K teacher. Chandler has extensive experience creating kindness and racial inclusivity curriculums for her students. She has also been trained in conflict resolution, anti-bullying, and multicultural education for young students. Chandler loves being in nature and spends her free time exploring new hiking trails with her dog, Audrey.
Co-founder Miranda Alves grew up in Bourne and currently lives in Falmouth. She received her BA in Biology from Bridgewater State. She is the first person in her immediate and extended family to receive a college-level degree. She worked as a landscaper on Cape Cod for 4+ years where she gained experience in teamwork and management. Currently, she is pursuing her ScM in Environmental Health and a certificate in Environmental and Occupational Health from Johns Hopkins. Miranda is very knowledgeable about Cape Cod’s natural environment and she enjoys bike riding and cooking.
Karleena Corey grew up and is currently living in Falmouth. She received her BS in Psychology from Bridgewater State and her MA in Community Social Psychology from UMASS Lowell. She has experience working in strategic planning and community outreach for non-profits. She has also worked on developing and presenting advocacy workshops. During undergraduate school, she worked with focus groups in a men’s prison to create a community mural. Currently, Karleena works in case management. In her free time, she enjoys trying out new vegan restaurants.
Augusta Davis is from Bourne and is currently living in Yarmouth Port. She received her BA in International Relations from Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, Japan. She is currently pursuing her MA in Conflict Resolution from UMASS Boston and has experience and training in mediation and dialogue facilitation. Augusta also has experience in non-profit advocacy work related to Indigenous rights. Augusta spent time living in Thailand and Mexico where she gained a love for exploring and learning about different cultures.
