Our Leadership Team

We are four women of color born and raised on Cape Cod. Our passion for racial justice and love for the Cape inspires us to speak up and  make our community a welcoming place for all.

Miranda Alves

President, Board Member

Miranda is from Bourne and now lives in Falmouth. She has BA in Biology from Bridgewater State and a certificate in Environmental and Occupational Health from Johns Hopkins. She is currently pursuing her ScM in Environmental Health from Johns Hopkins as well. She is the first person in her family to receive a college degree. Miranda is very knowledgeable about Cape Cod’s natural environment and she enjoys bike riding and cooking. 

Chandler Alves

Chandler is from Bourne and Falmouth and now lives in Wellesley. She works as a lead preschool teacher and has experience creating kindness and racial inclusivity curriculums. She is trained in conflict resolution, anti-bullying, and multicultural education for young students. Chandler loves being in nature and spends her free time exploring new hiking trails with her dog, Audrey.

Karleena Corey

Karleena is from Falmouth and now lives in Bridgewater. She received her BS in Psychology from Bridgewater State and her MA in Community Social Psychology from UMASS Lowell. She has experience working in strategic planning and community outreach. During undergraduate, she worked with focus groups in a men’s prison to create a community mural. Currently, Karleena works in higher ed and enjoys reading!  

Augusta Davis

Augusta is from Bourne and now lives in Medford. She received her BA in International Relations from Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto and is now pursuing her MA in Conflict Resolution from UMASS Boston. She is a mediator and facilitator and has experience in non-profit advocacy work related to Indigenous rights. Currently, she is working in communications. Augusta spent time living in Thailand and Mexico where she gained a love for exploring and learning about different cultures.
